Alturas Airport Day 2012
It almost didn't happen due to weather. We got a break! 4 Planes and 7 pilots from Klamath Falls flew to Alturas to support their Airport Day. The elementary school brings out approx 248 kids to see what happens at an airport. Ms Paula organized the California Highway Patrol, the local emergency responders, pilots from Klamath and local Alturas pilots for the event. Together we shared our interest in aviation with a bunch of excited kids. A great time was had by all. Thank you Ms Paula for allowing us to share our passion of aviation with the kids. Tooting the marvelous attributes of the Piper Tomahawk, Ross Wolf was voted "The most entertaining and fun" presenter. I think I'd buy 5 or 6 Tomahawks after all the wondrous things Ross said about PA38's. Can't believe I dont' have one. Ha Ha.

Van Nuys Airport
"Cleared to land 16R"...stopped in Van Nuys for lunch and weather check before the last leg home. Notice, we were the only plane with a propeller.
Dinner with family along the way.
Jeff's brother picked us up in Deer Valley and took us to a great Mexican food place. Good times!
End of the line...
Had to call off the trip. Severe wx in Tx and La for next few days. Jeff has to leave his plane in Colorado Springs for now. We'll get it there someday soon. Hang in there Jeff.
Prep for some pattern work in Colorado Springs
We decided not to press any further east. We could beat the storm east but then we'd be trapped as the storm passed over us. So, time for crosswind landing practice...
